Enduring Spanish Appeal Costa De La Luz

Many areas in Spain have seen property prices rocket, and yet for others that rise and popularity is just beginning. Costa de la Luz is one such place, predicted to be one of the fastest growing regions in Spain.

--- Location is the key to any successful investment with guaranteed returns. Investing in a Spanish property has always been popular and no more so than now. With low Spanish interest rates making mortgages all the more affordable, the question is not whether to buy but where to buy.

Last year alone, the province of Cadiz saw property prices rise by an incredible 26%, and that is set to increase.

Located in the heart of this unspoilt region is Arcos de la Frontera, a dramatically located 'white town' which was declared a national historic-artistic monument in 1962 in respect of its exceptional architecture and impressive location. The town is perched on the edge of a rocky ridge with a sheer cliff face drop down to the green valley of the river Guadalete below, lined with olive and orange groves. The whitewashed homes in a labyrinth of cobbled streets lead up to the Castillo de los Arcos with its tremendous views over the valley and beyond.

Overlooking the Lago de Arcos, a spectacular reservoir with excellent sports and leisure activities are the apartments of Novo Arcos, one of two new developments that are currently under construction. Due for completion in Autumn 2008, there is the choice of one, two or three bedroom apartments and penthouses. As well as panoramic lakeside views, there is a communal pool and garden area, private garage and storage areas.

For the golf enthusiasts, Arcos boasts the Arcos Gardens Championship Golf Course. There are also plans for another 20 golf courses in the region over the next five years. To escape it all and relax, the unspoilt turquoise sea and beautiful white sandy beaches of the Costa de la Luz are just 20 minutes away.

The Novo Arcos complex is ideal as a holiday home, with excellent rental potential or indeed as a permanent base. Prices start at around £85,000 for a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment.

Steeped in history, Arcos de la Frontera is alive with tapas bars, fish restaurants, local markets and even a cinema showing English speaking films. Accessibility to the town and surroundings is good and improving all the time. Jerez international airport, (La Parra), is just 15 minutes drive away. Budget airlines are already offer regular services here and more are planned. There has been a 100 million euro investment in Cadiz to include a new motorway to Arcos, regular bus services and high speed train links from Jerez to the rest of Spain.

House prices in Arcos de la Frontera are currently low but starting to rise. Around 30% of the Cadiz region is protected. This, combined with very strict building regulations and limited off-plan developments only serves to create a sellers market and raise prices.

A second development is within walking distance of the beautiful Arcos de la Frontera. Set in glorious surrounding countryside, the Terrazas del Lago is a development of quality town houses. There are six models being built with private parking, balconies and breathtaking sea views.

Just 20 minutes drive from Jerez airport, Terrazas del Logo is also well located to explore other cities in the region such as Jerez, Granada, Malaga and the historical centre of Seville. Jerez is well known for its dancing horses and strong history of flamenco. No visit could be complete without watching a traditional flamenco show. Filming of this development has already taken place for inclusion in the television programme "A Place in the Sun".

Prices for the town houses start from around £137,000 and, with the broadcasted publicity, prices are predicted to rise at least 17% p.a.
