High Rise Is Off The Menu For Turkey

New guidelines and building restrictions in Turkey is good news for investors and the long term property market.

--- A recent white paper by the Ministry of Forest and Agriculture of Turkey has stated that there will be new guidelines and, more importantly, restrictions on the level of construction that will be allowed by town planners until 2025.

The new rules will restrict the intensity of construction on Turkey's Aegean and Mediterranean coastlines, which until now has been left for individual municipals to decide on levels of development and densities.

John Reilly of Buy Abroad commented "This is great news for property in Dalaman and also the Gocek property market where the superb scenery and culture could have been effected by over development. With these new rule changes, it means that development in the Dalaman region will be carefully planned and implemented, which is good news for the long term property market in Turkey and for investors looking for good capital growth and buy to let returns."

The white paper further demonstrates the Turkish government's commitment to avoid the high-rise culture of other European neighbours and should ensure that Turkey continues to offer a good property investment for foreign buyers while retaining its coastal beauty.
