Low cost airlines queue up to fly eager passengers to Bodrum in Turkey

Bodrum in Turkey is set to benefit from a “budget airline bonanza” in terms of tourism at least! .

As Sterling continues to take a pounding from the Euro, holiday makers and indeed property buyers are eyeing Turkey as a value for money destination in 2010.

The trend has been spotted by the low cost carries and the likes of Monarch, Easyjet and Pegasus are set to fly increased numbers of passengers to Bodrum this year. In fact ABTA reported a huge 25% increase in bookings to Turkey made through its members in 2009. No coincident then that scheduled flights for 2010 are on the up.

It has been widely thought that the local Bodrum property market has been held back in recent years by the lack of low cost flights. But now most UK airports will be offering flights to Bodrum this year and they include Stanstead, Manchester, Liverpool and Bristol, not to mention London Gatwick.

Amy Swanson who is a local property agent in Budrum said “this is just what the area needed. It is no secret that the property prices in Bodrum have been attractive for years and the one reason that people often refer to when deciding not to buy is the lack of low cost flights. Hopefully the planned increase in low cost carriers will give people yet another reason to buy a holiday in this beautiful region”.
